Is Your Ab Workout Hurting Your Back? – Well Blog

The genesis of much of the ab work we do these days probably lies in the work done in an Australian physiotherapy lab during the mid-1990s. Researchers there, hoping to elucidate the underlying cause of back pain, attached electrodes to people’s midsections and directed them to rapidly raise and lower their arms, like the alarmist robot in “Lost in Space.”  Click here for the rest of the story via well.blogs.nytimes.com

Very interesting blog post about “core” exercises. I am often asked about abdominal exercises – this needs some additional research….

Jim Nantz speaks on the importance of PGA charities

Jim Nantz, the suave CBS sportscaster, displayed some uncharacteristic fiery indignation Tuesday at the Metropolitan Golf Writers’ awards dinner in Old Greenwich, Conn. Mr. Nantz tore into politicians and other opinion-makers who denounce support for golf tournaments as an inappropriate indulgence. “The PGA Tour raises more for charity than the NFL, NBA and baseball combined,” he said. He vowed to be more proactive in defending golf and urged others to do the same. – John Paul Newport WSJ.

What makes the majors special?

A timely article about what makes the golf Majors special.  From the Wall Street Journal and writer John Paul Newport.

“The setup’s different,” Boo Weekley acknowledged about the U.S. Open Thursday in the locker room at Bethpage. “That’s because the USGA beats to another drummer. But the rest of it, that’s just the hype you guys in the media put on it. The Open ain’t nothing but another tournament as far as I’m concerned.”

Ted V Google Search in Ireland

I don’t know how this happened, but I sure do like it.

I have been working with David Quaid from Primary Position (http://www.primaryposition.com to increase my page ranks on the web.

Now when you search in Google (we’ve tested it in Ireland), and type Ted V, I somehow am the first choice given.  Talk about Search Engine Optimization!  1.6 million results.

The Patriotic Retirement Plan

I think this guy nailed it!  This is from the St. Petersburg business section on Sunday

Dear Mr. President,

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan.

You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. – Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings – Unemployment fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered – Auto Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage – Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress and their constituents pay their taxes…

If you think this would work, please forward to everyone you know. If not, please disregard.
